Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike: The General That Has Refused To Die Despite All Conspiracies From His Detractors

I wish Self Acclaimed Enemies of Nyesom Wike will Learn From History.
There are politicians and there are political Generals. Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike belongs to the second category, the kind that does not just survive storms, but walks through them.
Since 2023, the obituary of Nyesom Wike has been written a thousand times. On television screens, on Twitter spaces, on Facebook pages and in newspaper columns. Each time, his enemies announce that this is the end. Each time, he bounces back stronger.
They said he would be politically retired after he stood against his own party to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. They said President Tinubu would use him and dump him. Two years after, Wike is not only standing as the powerful Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, he is dictating the political tempo of Rivers State, the South South and Nigeria.
They said Governor Siminalayi Fubara would end his dynasty. They gave Fubara false confidence, urging him to dismantle the structure that made him governor. At the end of the day, it was Fubara who went on a six-month suspension, not Wike. It was Fubara who lost his political base, while Wike kept his 27 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly intact and produced 23 local government chairmen.
When will Wike’s enemies learn that politics is not noise making? It is structure, strategy and staying power.
The recent emergence of Rt. Hon. O.K. Chinda as the APC governorship candidate in Rivers State is another proof. While social media analysts were busy analyzing how Hope Uzodinma would outsmart Wike and how Fubara would secure a second term under APC, Wike was quietly perfecting a masterstroke. Today, Fubara is out of the race and Chinda, a loyal Wike foot soldier is in.
Now, as usual, the conspiracy theorists have launched a new attack – twisting the Supreme Court judgement on Isa Pantami delivered on 24th September, 2026 to discredit Chinda’s candidacy. It is another failed project. There is no case, because there is no petitioner. All aspirants stepped down voluntarily for Chinda.
Wike’s political life defies the laws of political gravity. The more they push him down, the higher he rises. That is why he is called the General who has refused to die.
Perhaps his enemies should finally understand that you cannot kill a man whose time has not come. And for Nyesom Wike, his time is still very much here.
