AGRICULTURE: From Survival to Prosperity – Ikenna Ukwa Unveils Agricultural Empowerment Plan for Arochukwu/Ohafia

Our people know farming. It is part of who we are.

Across Arochukwu and Ohafia, our parents and grandparents worked the land to feed their families, educate their children and build better lives. Many of our people are still doing the same today.

But the truth is that farming has become increasingly difficult. Inputs are expensive, access to finance is limited, farmers struggle to find good markets, and too much of what we produce leaves our communities without being properly processed.

Hon. Ikenna Nicolas Ukwa believes this must change.

His vision is to make agriculture a profitable and dignified business, especially for our young people and hardworking farmers.

What Ikenna Wants To Do:

*1. Support Our Farmers With Better Inputs:* He will advocate for access to improved seedlings, fertilizers, modern farming equipment and Federal Government agricultural intervention programmes.

*2. Build Stronger Farmer Cooperatives:* When farmers come together, they have a better chance of accessing finance, buying inputs at better prices and negotiating better markets for their produce.

*3. Improve Access To Affordable Funding:* Ikenna will work to connect farmers and agribusiness owners with relevant Federal Government programmes, agencies and financial institutions that can support their businesses.

*4. Promote Processing and Value Addition:* Why should we continue selling cassava cheaply when we can process it into garri, starch and other products here? Why should our young people leave home looking for jobs when opportunities can be created around the farms and businesses we already have? Ikenna wants to encourage agro-processing in our constituency, so that more of the value created from our land stays here.

*5. Give Young People a Place in Modern Agriculture:* Agriculture is no longer just about carrying a hoe to the farm. It is a business. It involves technology, processing, packaging, marketing, logistics and export. Our young people can be farmers, agribusiness owners, processors and agricultural entrepreneurs.

*The Bigger Picture:*

This is not just about farming. It is about putting money in the hands of our people, creating jobs, supporting families and making our communities economically stronger.

For Ikenna Ukwa, the farmer must not be forgotten after the harvest. The farmer must be part of the prosperity that comes from the entire agricultural value chain.

Our land has potential. Our farmers have the experience. Our young people have the energy. What we need is the right support and the right representation to connect these strengths to real opportunities.

From farm to market.

From raw produce to finished products.

From survival to prosperity.

That is the agricultural vision for Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency.
