2027: Chief Eric Opah Will Tackle Abia Unemployment Rate Through Skills Acquisition
Unemployment remains Nigeria’s biggest economic risk in 2026 and beyond
Latest data from WEF and NBS shows the crisis is worst among youths: 53.4% of 15-24 year – old and 37% of 25-34 year old are unemployed.
Graduates with Degrees/HND face 40.1% unemployment challenges.
When youths are idle, insecurity, crime and under-development thrives in our society and life becames hopeless, short and brutish.
The answer is skills acquisition, with hands on capital for start up is the real support to start businesses and trigger economic growth.
That is why Chief Eric Opah, APC Abia State Governorship candidate is proposing a new approach to the menace of unemployment.
Chief Opah has always believed that when government abandons the youths, it’s a signs that the state is not working and it has a negative pact with under-development.
Before he ventured into politics, Chief Eric Opah has invested in training young people and linking them to opportunities.
As Governor, Chief Eric Opah will do the following:
1. Launch Abia Skills-to-Wealth Programme, Mass training in mechatronics, ICT, fashion, agro-processing and other trades tied to Aba’s industrial base.
2. Provide Starter Packs & Capital. Graduates will get tools and seed funds to start immediately.
3. Partner with Industry, direct linkages with manufacturers in Aba, Innoson, and tech hubs to absorb skilled youths etc.
Abia needs more than promises. We need jobs, skills, and a government that prepares youths for the future.
And Chief Eric Opah is that leader, he has done it before and he is still doing it as private citizen and business mogul.
With APC’s support at the center and his private sector experience, he is ready to turn Abia’s young population into our greatest asset.
Vote Chief Eric Opah for Skills, Jobs and Prosperity.
