2027: Bende Pastors Commit Dr. Chima Anyaso to God, Pray for His Victory in House of Representatives Race

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, ministers of the Gospel from across Bende Local Government Area of Abia State have offered special prayers for the Labour Party’s candidate for Bende Federal Constituency, Dr. Chima Anyaso, asking God to guide and grant him victory in his bid for the House of Representatives.

The clerics made the declaration during a prayer visit to Dr. Anyaso’s country home in Igbere on Thursday, where they said the Church must become more actively involved in the emergence of God-fearing leaders.

Delivering a message on behalf of the ministers, an Assemblies of God Church pastor in Bende, Rev. Henry Kay, said the time had come for the Church to rise and take its rightful place in leadership.

“It is time for the Church to gather and build with bricks, no longer stones. We have come to pray and cry unto God on his behalf. There is no way the Church will continually pray for a man and God will not cause him to excel,” he said.

Also speaking, the Coordinator of the group, Rev. Ibe Uduma, said the Church had resolved to play a more active role in shaping leadership in Bende and assured Dr. Anyaso of their continued prayers and spiritual support throughout his political journey.

Responding, Dr. Chima Anyaso expressed gratitude to the ministers, revealing that their prayers and encouragement had been consistent over the past year, even before the Labour Party primary election.

“This didn’t start today. For over one year, these pastors have been praying for me. Even before the primaries, they said I was the one they would support in prayers to emerge,” he said.

He pledged not to disappoint the Church or the people of Bende if given the opportunity to serve.

“I will not disappoint the Church. Those who seek to take what belongs to God should know that God will not remain silent,” he added.
