Chima Anyaso Foundation Trains Bende Teachers on Collaborative Learning

The Chima Anyaso Foundation begins a two-day teachers’ training programme, Tuesday 26th May to Wednesday 27th May 2026, aimed at strengthening teaching capacity and promoting collaborative learning methods among educators in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State.

The training, themed “Teaching and Learning in a Disruptive Age: Collaborative Learning,” forms part of the Foundation’s ongoing investment in human capital development and educational advancement within the community.

The initiative comes only days after the Foundation concluded a large-scale healthcare outreach that provided eye care services to thousands of residents across Bende.

Participants and stakeholders described the programme as another demonstration of the commitment of the Founder, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso’s foundation 18 years consecutive sustainable community development through education, healthcare, and empowerment initiatives.

Unlike conventional empowerment programmes focused mainly on financial support, the Foundation noted that the training reflects its broader vision of promoting long-term societal growth through knowledge development, innovation, and capacity building.

Organised under the Foundation’s “Shapening the Future” initiative, the programme was opened to teachers across Bende LGA, including educators outside the Foundation’s tuition-free schools.

Observers said the decision to extend the training to teachers throughout the local government area underscores Dr. Anyaso’s commitment to improving educational standards and investing in the future of younger generations.

Facilitators at the training include the Chief Executive Officer of CEBAR Development Foundation, Carol Barlow, and education consultant, Peter Juan Triumphant, who are leading sessions focused on modern teaching strategies, collaborative learning, and classroom engagement in a rapidly evolving educational environment.

The programme is being coordinated by Chichi Orioha, popularly known as Adaoma Bende and Chief Executive Officer of Britarch Schools; Carol Barlow of CEBAR Development Foundation; and Mrs Adanna Anyaso of the Ahuoma Anyaso Educational Foundation.

Dignitaries present at the event included the Education Secretary of Bende LGA, Mrs. Nneka Udensi; NASU Chairman, Bende LGA, Comrade Ogboso Chike; member of the Abia State Civil Service Commission, Agu Ifeoma; and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Basic and Secondary Education, Sir Ken Nwosu.

Participants commended the initiative, describing it as timely, impactful, and beneficial to the education sector, while expressing optimism that the knowledge gained would improve classroom engagement, teaching effectiveness, and collaborative learning outcomes across schools in Bende Local Government Area.
