A seasoned and people-oriented politician,Hon Ukpai Kalu Ifegwu who was earlier cleared to contest the PDP House of Assembly Party Primaries for Ohafia South States Constituency has been declared the winner as the consensus candidate of the party today, 22th May, 2026
The primary election that was supervised by the INEC witness a massive turnout of party members which underscores the level of the candidate’s acceptability and readiness to challenge other candidates at the general elections.
The Party returning officer, Mrs Onyemachi Akunnaya in her declaration, stayed that Hon Ukpai Kalu has been certified by the party as a consensus candidate and INEC to contest under the platform of the party and called on other party members and the people of the constituency to come out during the election and vote for him.
Hon Ukpai Kalu in his address said he is overwhelmed by the support and trust of the party members. He assured them of his commitment to their welfare and challenges of the constituency if elected.
Furthermore, He promised the good people of Ohafia South to be a listening and accessible leader to all and a voice for his constituents.
The party primaries which took place at the Ikenga plaza Ohafia attracted Party members from all the wards and stakeholders including one of the Party Governorship candidate, Chief Olugu Kalu Ugba ( isi bu mba) and many others
