ABIA APC DISMISSES FACTIONAL PDP CLAIMS, REAFFIRMS DOMINANCE AHEAD OF 2027

The attention of the All Progressives Congress in Abia state, has been drawn to a press conference addressed by a group of individuals parading themselves as a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

While we are fully aware that the only PDP structure recognized by law and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abia State is the Abraham Amah led leadership, we would ordinarily not dignify such a faceless group with a response. However, it has become necessary to set the record straight in order to prevent the public from being misled by a band of politically homeless, and frustrated elements who lack political relevance, recognition, and any credible grassroots base. These are individuals whom the courts have effectively rendered politically inconsequential by affirming the Wike-led group as the authentic PDP.

From the outset, it is evident that these self-styled factional actors are nothing more than transactional politicians whose sole objective is to mortgage whatever remains of the PDP in Abia State for personal gain, particularly in a desperate bid to curry favor with Governor Alex Otti. Fortunately, their scheme has been decisively thwarted by the courts, thereby nullifying their claims and exposing their lack of legitimacy. As such, they do not merit any iota of attention.

It is both ironic and laughable that such individuals presume to offer political advice to Abians, a people who, by their own free will, have demonstrated overwhelming acceptance, trust, and growing support for the APC across the state, all thanks to the leadership of Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, the Deputy Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives.

A critical examination of the political antecedents and track records of these so-called advisers reveals a consistent pattern of failure. These are individuals who, at various times, occupied positions of public trust but left behind no meaningful legacy. Indeed, Abians need no reminder that it was their greed, ineptitude, and selfishness that led to the collapse and disintegration of the PDP in the state.

Governor Alex Otti should take note that he is aligning himself with a collection of political has-beens and irrelevancies whose mission is fundamentally flawed and destined for failure even before it began, in as much he (Otti) belongs to same group of dishonest and confused politicians.

The APC remains strong, widely accepted, and deeply trusted by the people of Abia State. The party continues to maintain a clear and commanding presence within the political landscape. As 2027 approaches, the resolve of Abians to rally behind the APC will only grow stronger, culminating in a resounding and decisive victory at the polls.

Most importantly, these individuals have a well documented history of political sabotage. They are the very architects of the crisis that engulfed the PDP, they betrayed the same platform that once gave them relevance and opportunity. Their actions in the last election cycle further exposed them as serial saboteurs, willing to trade loyalty, integrity, and conscience for personal financial gain. Such characters cannot and should not be taken seriously by any discerning member of the public and at such should be disregarded.

The APC is poised to usher in a government that will prioritize the welfare of the people, uphold transparency and accountability, respect for institutions, deliver standard infrastructure and give Abians quality, accessible, affordable education and transportation, alongside sustainable development across all sectors.
