THE FACTS OFUJI: THE TRUE STORY OF DR. CHIMAOBI DESMOND ANYASO
Long before 2027 became a political conversation, Ofuji had already made service a personal habit rather than a campaign strategy. His charitable interventions did not begin because an election was approaching. They were already touching lives years before his name appeared on any ballot.
Through the Chima Anyaso Foundation, he has supported communities with scholarships, educational grants, youth empowerment programmes, business grants for small entrepreneurs, healthcare interventions, food distribution to vulnerable families, assistance for persons living with disabilities, and the renovation of public institutions. These programmes have been concentrated particularly in Bende Local Government Area, where many beneficiaries have experienced these interventions firsthand.
Education has remained one of his strongest passions. Through the Ahuoma Anyaso Educational Foundation, thousands of children have reportedly received free education, while pupils from disadvantaged homes have benefited from uniforms, books, and learning materials. For many families, education that once seemed impossible became a reality because someone chose to invest in children he did not know personally.
Healthcare has equally remained central to his humanitarian work. Free medical outreaches have provided consultations, treatment, and medicines to thousands of residents. Communities that often struggle to access quality healthcare have benefited from these initiatives, easing both suffering and financial burdens on families.
Youth empowerment has not been left behind. Small businesses have received financial support, entrepreneurs have been encouraged through grants, and young people have been equipped with digital skills and opportunities designed to promote self-reliance rather than dependency.
Perhaps this explains why the name “Ofuji” evokes affection in many communities across Bende. Love cannot be rented. Confidence cannot be photocopied. Respect cannot be borrowed. They are earned through years of visible service.
A popular saying goes that the tree does not advertise its fruits; the people who eat them become its marketers. In the same vein, many supporters argue that Ofuji’s strongest campaigners are not political appointees but ordinary people whose lives have been positively affected by his interventions.
One comic truth about politics is that some politicians suddenly discover every village once elections arrive. They become experts in greetings, babies, funerals, weddings, naming ceremonies—even football matches they have never watched! But philanthropy that predates politics often carries more weight with voters than campaign speeches.
Supporters therefore contend that Ofuji’s candidacy under the Labour Party is built not merely on promises but on an already established record of community engagement. They argue that his years of educational support, healthcare initiatives, and empowerment programmes demonstrate the kind of representation they hope to see in the House of Representatives.
Ultimately, the decision belongs to the electorate. Every voter must assess the records, compare the candidates, and choose the person they believe will best represent Bende Federal Constituency.
If leadership is measured by compassion, consistency, and a documented history of community service, supporters believe Ofuji has presented a record worthy of serious consideration.
