2027: Bende Youths Adopt Anyaso as Consensus Candidate, Offer to Purchase LP Expression of Interest Form
The Bende Youths’ Consultative Forum, the apex socio-political youth organization in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, has unanimously adopted Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso (Ofuji) as its consensus candidate for the 2027 Bende Federal Constituency election.
In a remarkable demonstration of solidarity, the youths pledged to purchase the Labour Party Expression of Interest Form for Dr. Anyaso, describing his candidacy as a collective project of Bende youths.
The decision was reached during an extraordinary meeting between ward coordinators of the forum and Dr. Anyaso held at the Ofuji Resource Center, Igbere.
Speaking during the meeting, the Chairman of the Forum, Hon. Chief Emenike Okorie (Omenma), described Dr. Anyaso as “one of us,” stressing that his emergence as member representing Bende Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives is a mission the youths are determined to accomplish.
According to him, the gesture was not because Dr. Anyaso lacked the financial capacity to purchase the form himself, but rather a symbolic expression of ownership, loyalty, and commitment by Bende youths toward his electoral success.
He noted that Dr. Anyaso’s numerous grassroots empowerment initiatives have positively impacted young people across Bende, adding that the time had come for the youths to reciprocate his support through massive political backing.
Responding, Dr. Anyaso expressed deep appreciation for the overwhelming show of solidarity, describing the offer as a clear demonstration of brotherhood and genuine commitment.
He assured the youths that he would justify the confidence reposed in him if elected, promising expanded opportunities for young people through federal government agencies and programmes, particularly in education, skills acquisition, and employment generation.
In a vote of thanks, the Coordinator of Igbere Ward B, Hon. Chukwuma Orji, commended members of the forum for their unity, loyalty, and unwavering support for the Ofuji project.
Dignitaries present at the meeting included the Director-General of the Chima Anyaso Foundation, Ezeogo Emeka Onuoha; Deputy Chief of Staff to the Deputy Governor of Abia State, Hon. Barr. Chijioke Nwankwo; Abia North Zonal Coordinator of Abia Arise, Chief Chidiebere Asonye; the thirteen Ward Coordinators of the Bende Youths’ Consultative Forum, and other stakeholders from across Bende Federal Constituency.
