Rejuvenating The Spirit of Competitive Education In Arochukwu, Mayor of Arochukwu Setting The Pace
Leadership they say requires a serious minded leader that is focus, articulate and proactive.
It requires a man that is coordinated, compassionate in nature who can relate with all citizens not minding their levels in the society and can adapt to every situation at every given time.
All these qualities can be attribute to the Executive Mayor of Arochukwu Local Government Area, Engr. Dr. Chibuike Okereke Eze Aru who has taken the bull by the horn by rejuvenating the spirit and core value of education in Arochukwu LGA through his people oriented policies and goodwill.
During the last Children’s Day Celebration that took place on the 27th of May 2025 across Nigeria and in Arochukwu LGA in particular, while others where only singing and dancing, the Mayor of Arochukwu used the opportunity to revitalize the rudiments of education and children’s day celebration in Arochukwu LGA by making pronouncements and immediately started implementation of the policies that he pronounced.
For example, during the 2025 Youth Day Celebration, the Mayor of Arochukwu re-introduced competitive quiz competition among students of Arochukwu LGA Education authority with mouthwatering prizes attached to it.
Also to make the children’s day celebration more interesting, the Mayor of Arochukwu LGA also introduced children’s party that will always be taken place at every children’s Day Celebration in Arochukwu LGA, starting from the last one.
The Mayor has also re-introduced compulsory distribution of educational materials to help parents and improve education in the LGA.
Also, in his bid to make sure that we have a working education in Arochukwu LGA, the Mayor has reintroduced weekly supervision of academic activities in schools and compulsory extra curriculum activities to help discover and rediscover talents in the LGA.
In his bid to make parents/Teachers relationship and communication more effective and enjoyable, the Mayor has introduced parents/teachers monthly academic orientation to take encourage and motivate them in discharging their duties as parents and teachers
The Mayor who holds a Ph.D in Computer science has before now sponsored skills acquisition training on computer education and engineering for the Youths of Arochukwu LGA.
It is on these premises that I think that the Mayor of Arochukwu, Dr. Chibuike Okereke Eze Aru deserve commendations from well meaning people of Arochukwu, Abia and Nigeria because he has done well.
