Youths Storm Umuahia as Senator Akobundu’s Digital Skills Acquisition Programme Commences Second Batch
Registration for the second batch of Senator Austin Akobundu’s sponsored Digital Skills Acquisition Programme for youths of Abia Central Senatorial District commenced today, Saturday, February 1, 2025.
The NOSTROCOM House Umuahia venue of the programme was a beehive of activities as youths from across the senatorial district converged on the facility for their registration.
The skills acquisition programme which targets 1,000 youths ended its first batch on 28th December, 2024, with 186 participants, three from each of the 62 wards that make up the constituency, graduating after having been trained in different areas of modern, in-demand and commercially viable ICT fields.
With the success of the first batch, another batch is set to commence the programme proper on Monday, February 3, 2025.
The participants will be trained on Web Design, Forex Trading, Software Development, Graphic Design, Data Science, and Digital Marketing.
The skills acquisition programme is one of Senator Austin Akobundu’s numerous commitments to human capacity development, especially the empowerment of youths, for the purposes of turning them from job seekers to job creating entrepreneurs.
