Ikeji Aro: Senator Mao Ohuabunwa Ph.D Pays Homage to Eze Aro IX

In the spirit of the ongoing Ikeji Arochukwu Festival, Distinguished Senator Mao Ohuabunwa Ph.D, Pro- Chancellor of the University of Portharcut yesterday paid a courtesy visit to the palace of His Eminence, Dr. Eberechukwu Kanu Oji, Eze Aro IX of Arochukwu Kingdom.

Easterntruth gathered that the visit, which was marked by royal honour and warm reception, saw the Eze Aro receive the former Senator who represented Abia North Senatorial District with great delight.

Senator Ohuabunwa, who came to felicitate with the Eze Aro and the entire Arochukwu Kingdom as they celebrate this year’s Ikeji Festival – a festival that showcases the rich cultural heritage of the Aro people – reiterated his respect for the traditional institution and his commitment to the unity and progress of Arochukwu Kingdom.

In his response, His Eminence, Dr. Eberechukwu Kanu Oji, Eze Aro IX, thanked the Distinguished Senator for the visit and for identifying with the Kingdom in this season of celebration. He prayed for peace, progress and unity in Arochukwu Kingdom and Abia State at large.

The Ikeji Arochukwu Festival remains one of the most significant cultural festivals in Igboland, symbolizing thanksgiving, unity and cultural pride.
