VISION BEFORE POLITICS: How Prince Mayor Ukaegbu, APC Umuahia Central Assembly Candidate, Empowered 500 Youths With Free ICT Skills in 2022
VISION BEFORE POLITICS
Throwback Thursday: Today, we look back at a moment that defined true leadership and vision.
Throwback to the massive *FREE ICT Training* organized by Prince Mayor Ukaegbu, where over *500 youths across Umuahia* were trained, equipped and empowered with 21st-century digital skills completely free.
Long before others started talking about youth empowerment, one man was already doing it.
In 2022, when many were talking about youth empowerment, Prince Mayor Ukaegbu took action.
He gave more than 500 youths in Umuahia free ICT training, equipping them with practical tech skills in a world that is moving digital.
*No fees. No connection. Just a genuine desire to lift our young people from job seekers to job creators.*
Importantly, this visionary program was initiated and co-sponsored by *Engr. Chinedum Orji (Ikukuoma Abia), the APC candidate for Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency*, whose commitment to youth development and passion for empowering the next generation provided the crucial support and partnership that made this massive project a reality.
It was a powerful collaboration of like-minded leaders who believe in investing in people.
*No money was collected. No party card was required.* Just a sincere desire to take our youths off the streets and put a laptop in their hands.
He didn’t just teach them how to press computer keys. He gave them:
– Computer Appreciation & Internet Literacy
– Graphic Design & Digital Marketing
– Basic Coding & Office Productivity Tools
– Skills to work online, earn online and become self-reliant
At a time when many leaders were sharing peanuts, Prince Mayor was sharing *SKILLS* — skills that no one can take away. While others were giving promises, he was giving SKILLS.
In this 21st century, if you don’t have a tech skill, you’re already left behind. Tech is not the future, tech is NOW.
Thank you Prince Mayor for seeing tomorrow and preparing our youths for it. This is leadership that thinks ahead.
*This matters more today because we are in a digital economy. The world has changed.*
Certificate is no longer enough: Today, even market women need ICT to sell online. Without tech skills, our youths are unemployable.
Tech is the new oil: A youth with a laptop and data in Umuahia can earn in dollars working for a company in Canada. That is the power Prince Mayor saw ahead.
Fighting Insecurity & Unemployment: An idle youth is a danger to society. A tech-skilled youth is an asset. 500 youths trained means 500 potential CEOs, not 500 job seekers.
This is what leadership looks like. Not just stomach infrastructure, but *BRAIN INFRASTRUCTURE*.
In today’s world, tech skill is the new oil. A young person with a laptop and internet can earn more than someone with an office. ICT is no longer optional, it is survival.
From content creation, to graphic design, coding, digital marketing, and data analysis — the opportunities are endless.
Prince Mayor Ukaegbu understood this early. He did not just give fish, he gave fishing nets for the digital ocean. He proved that he believes in human capital development. He invested in People.
We don’t forget such legacies.
This is the kind of leader Umuahia Central needs — a leader who equips the hands, enlightens the mind, and empowers the future.

Vote Prince Mayor Ukaegbu*
