The Mayor of Arochukwu Local Government Area, Prof. Okereke Eze Aru, has on behalf of the government and the good people of Arochukwu LGA congratulated Gov. Alex Otti and all Abians on the occasion of Abia State’s 35th Anniversary, describing the milestone as a celebration of resilience, progress, and renewed hope.

In a goodwill message on Thursday, Prof. Eze Aru commended the governor’s leadership and reforms, saying Abia is witnessing visible transformation across infrastructure, healthcare, education, and civil service under the present administration.

At 35, Abia is getting to the Promised Land under Governor Alex Otti, the Mayor stated.
From the rehabilitation of roads to the restoration of dignity in the civil service and the rebuilding of our markets and schools, the people can see and feel the difference. This is the Abia of our dreams.

Prof. Aru praised Gov. Otti for his commitment to accountability, prudent management of resources, and inclusive governance that carries every LGA along. He noted that Arochukwu LGA is already benefiting from the state’s renewed focus on rural development, security, and grassroots empowerment.

He urged Abians to continue to support the government, remain united, and take ownership of government projects in their communities.

As we mark 35 years, let us renew our commitment to peace, hard work, and progress. With the leadership we have today, Abia’s best years are ahead of us, he added.

The Mayor also prayed for continued peace, prosperity, and growth for Abia State and its people.

Abia State was created on 27th August 1991 by Gen. Ibrahim Babangida and is marking its 35th anniversary this year.
