by Tony Icheku
In a desperate bid to cover up his ineptitude and “zero performance” in the House of Representatives, Hon. Obi Aguocha has taken to social media blackmail and sponsorship of false stories
The lawmaker whose dishonourable actions are attracting scathing comments on the social media on Thursday July 16, 2026 took to his Facebook to make the following announcement: ‘Historic Legislative Achievement. Nigerian Senate Passes and Concur To The Bill Establishing The Federal Medical Centre”
Agoucha’s e-rats quickly picked the story and began sharing with zeal on the social media. They added a fake Senate Order Paper to their fake stories
The true story according to a report by the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN show that the Senate on Tuesday. July 14, 2026 passed three concurrence bills transmitted by the House of Representatives and advanced a bill seeking to establish a Federal Medical Centre in Arugungu, Kebbi State.
The three concurrence bills passed by the Senate include: The Federal Road Safety Corps (Amendment) Bill, 2026: The Federal University of Medical Laboratory Science and Technology, Jos (Establishment) Bill, 2026; And the Federal Universities of Technology (Amendment) Bill, 2026, which were transmitted to the Upper Chamber by the House of Representatives for concurrence.
The same day, the Senate also passed for second reading a bill seeking to amend the Federal Medical Centres Act to provide for the establishment of the Federal Medical Centre, Argungu, in Kebbi State. All the bills were listed in the Order Paper
The Senate Order Paper for Thursday July 16, 2026 did not list any ‘The Bill Establishing The Federal Medical Centre, (Fed Med. Centre Ikwuano) as Aguocha claimed in his forged Order Paper
It is now very clear that Aguocha has resorted to fabrication of fake stories and artificial intelligence (AI) generated images designed to deceive the public.
Investigation has also linked Aguocha to manufacturing fake information and deepfake media targeting his opponent, Rt Hon Chinedum Orji
Reacting to the development, a journalist, Chidinma Omar told our reporter: “Aguocha is becoming notorious for spreading false publication knowing fully well they are fake. Where he targets his political opponent with such fake stories, his intentions are to cause a breakdown of law and order, incite the public against INEC and his opponent in the House of Representatives election, and fuel violent discontent among the people. Aguocha is full aware that his zero score card would cause him to woefully lose the election
”Aguocha should be reminded that utilizing fake news as a political weapon carries severe legal consequences, placing him at risk of criminal prosecution and potential imprisonment. By his nefarttious activities, Aguocha has infringed portions of the following laws including ‘The Cybercrimes (Prohibition and Prevention) Amendment Act Section 24(1)(b): Provides strict punitive measures for individuals who knowingly publish false information to threaten public peace or human lives.
”The Criminal Code of Southern Nigeria (Section 375 & Section 59): Contains similar provisions regarding criminal defamation and the publication of false statements likely to cause public alarm.
”It is definitely not too late for the Police to thoroughly investigate and prosecute Aguocha for these deliberate violations”, the journalist proffered
For the last three years, Aguocha has absolutely nothing to show as his legislative scorecard and his continued sponsorship of false social media stories cover up schemes for his lack of performance in the House of Representatives
