You Cannot Fake Leadership – Prince Ike Okorafor
The people of Arochukwu are entitled to ask hard questions of anyone who seeks to represent them. It is not an attack it is democracy. Reports currently circulating from credible quarters raise deeply troubling questions about the authenticity of (DELAZ) Austin Bonny’s academic credentials submitted to INEC. These are not whispers from political opponents. They are questions that electoral law and constitutional fitness demand be answered openly, completely, and urgently. A candidate who cannot clarify the legitimacy of his own qualifications has no business asking Arochukwu to trust him with theirs.
The Abia State House of Assembly is a constitutional institution. The threshold for entry is not merely ambition it is verified eligibility. When questions of certificate authenticity surround a candidate, the burden of proof rests entirely on that candidate. Austin Bonny has had ample opportunity to clear the air. The silence or the inadequacy of his response speaks in ways that no political opponent needs to amplify. The Party screening processes exist for precisely this reason. INEC’s processes exist precisely for moments like this. Arochukwu should watch those processes closely.
Arochukwu has always been a land of discernment. Its people do not need to wait for a court ruling to exercise their own judgment. A candidate whose qualifications are under a cloud of serious public doubt is already a weakened vessel for the aspirations of this constituency. Whatever the legal outcome, the moral question has already been raised and it will not be easily silenced. Arochukwu deserves a representative whose record invites scrutiny without fear. The people deserve certainty not controversy.
