HON. MEZIEOBI HONOURED WITH CHIEFTAINCY TITLE
Hon. Chidi Mezieobi Ezeogu, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has been honoured with the chieftaincy title of Ezi Nwada I of Amankwo Autonomous Community, an honour bestowed on him by his maternal home.
The title was conferred by His Royal Highness, Eze Lt./CRD Anthony O. Okoronkwo, during the monarch’s 84th birthday celebration held at Amankwo Autonomous Community in Uzuakoli, Abia State.
The honour, according to the traditional institution, was in recognition of Hon. Mezieobi’s positive contributions, commitment, and love for the people of Amankwo Autonomous Community and Uzuakoli at large.
While conferring the title, HRH Eze Okoronkwo described Hon. Mezieobi as “a proud grandson of the land who has consistently shown support and love through actions rather than words.”
“He has stood by his people and demonstrated uncommon commitment to the development of this community,” the monarch said, urging him to remain focused, adding that “the days ahead remain promising.”
In his response, Hon. Mezieobi expressed gratitude to the traditional ruler and the people of Amankwo and Uzuakoli for the honour, describing it as humbling.
“I am deeply humbled by this honour bestowed on me by my people,” he said. “I accept it with a strong sense of responsibility and a renewed commitment to continue contributing to the development of Amankwo and Uzuakoli as a whole.”
He noted that the decision to accept the title came after several years of appeals, describing it as a call to greater service.
“This title is a call to do more for my people. I will not relent in my efforts to support the growth and progress of this community,” he added, dedicating the honour to the memory of his late mother.
The event was attended by prominent sons and daughters of Uzuakoli and Bende Local Government Area of Abia State.
