PRESS RELEASE

My attention has been drawn to report making rounds on the social media with the headline: “Abia Assembly Majority Leader Smashes Beer Bottle on Colleague’s Head During Fight Over Governor Otti’s Cash Gift”.

In the said report, my brother and Colleague, Hon. Okoro Uchenna Kalu who is the Leader of the House was accused of hitting my head with a beer bottle and that I was rushed to the Hospital as a result.

I want to categorically State that the report is not just false but an act by wicked elements to destabilize the 8th Abia State House Of Assembly. There was never a time such ugly incidence happened and we will never allow such to happen. It is now very obvious that the peace and harmony the house has enjoyed since inauguration is obviously not going down well with distractors of the State.

I have no issue with my brother and colleague, Hon. Uchenna or any of my colleagues. Those peddling this false rumors should be ready to prove same when called upon.

Hon. Akachukwu Ucheonye

Member Representing Aba Central State Constituency
