Be Agents of Peace And Unity For The Progress of Arochukwu, Mayor Of Arochukwu Charges Women During August Meeting
The Mayor of Arochukwu Local Government Area, Engr. Dr. Okereke Eze Aru has charged women of Arochukwu LGA to be agents of peace and partners of his government in building and maintaining unity in the LGA.
Speaking in Arochukwu stadium, during this year’s August Meeting organized by the wife of the Mayor, with the Theme; Abia Women United in Strength, Empowered For Purpose, Dr. Eze Aru commended the resilience and doggedness of Arochukwu women in all walks of life. He described Arochukwu women as strongest among their equals. He therefore admonished them to continue to maintain peace, love and unity in their various community in order to be partners of the Governor Alex Otti’s progressive government that has brought peace and development to Abia State.
He Congratulated the women for a successful August Meeting.
In her welcome speech, the wife of the Mayor, Mrs. Rita Nkiru Eze Aru Extolled the women of Arochukwu for trooping out for the August Meeting, she expressed her appreciation to the wife of the Governor, Mrs Priscilla Otti who was represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Poverty Alleviation, Hon. Ngozi Felix for her generosity towards the women of Arochukwu and for Honouring the invitation of the women of Arochukwu, she promised that the women will continue to be partnering the government in peace building. She prayed God to bless her and the Governor, Dr. Alex Otti.
Highlights of the even include;
Automatic employment to some women by the Wife of the Governor, Mrs Priscilla Otti and Guinness Nigeria PLC who co-sponsored the August Meeting.
Empowerment of 10 women of Arochukwu LGA with over 100, 000 Naira each.
Distribution of 80 bags of rice by the Wife of the Governor and cutting of Unity Cake
The event also attracted the presence of the Majority Leader of the Abia State house of Assembly, Hon. Uchenna Okoro, the Deputy Mayor of Arochukwu LGA among others, ASEPA Boss, Elder Ogbonnaya Okereke among other Dignitaries.
