Relentless in Service Delivery, Senator Austin Akobundu Installs Solar-Powered Streetlights at Afor Umuda Market, Ofeme, Umuahia North
Senator Austin Akobundu of Abia Central Senatorial District has completed the installation of solar-powered streetlights at Afor Umuda market in Ofeme, Umuahia North LGA, Abia State.
This latest installation brings to 12 (two for each LGA) the total number of markets equipped with solar-powered streetlights in Abia Central Senatorial District.
The other markets already equipped with streetlights include:
a. Apumiri market, Umuahia South
b. Ahiaukwu market, Umuahia South
c. Obikabia market, Isiala Ngwa North
d. Nkwo Nsulu market, Isiala Ngwa North e. Ahiaeke market, Umuahia North
f. Ekeonyeugba market, Isiala Ngwa South
g. Nkwo Ebe market, Umunkpeyi Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa South
h. Ariam market, Ikwuano, and
i. Ndoru market, Ikwuano
The latest addition brings Umuahia North LGA to parity with the other LGAs that earlier had two markets each equipped with the streetlights by Senator Akobundu and concludes the first phase of his “Light Up the Markets Initiative.”
Akobundu had promised to make markets in the senatorial district more attractive, safer, and more secure for commercial activities even at night in order to make goods and services available to the people even late into the night.
This is also a further demonstration of his commitment to fostering economic growth and community development in the senatorial district.
More markets are billed to benefit from the second phase of “Light Up the Markets Initiative” of the Senator commencing in the coming days.
