Children’s Day: Senator Akobundu Celebrates Children, Says “My Vision is to Catch Them Young”

Senator Austin Akobundu has reiterated his commitment to the all-round growth of children and help secure their future with significant investment in their development.

The Senator stated this today in his congratulatory message to children on the occasion of Children’s Day.

While admonishing parents not to abdicate their responsibility of training their children no matter how challenging the task might be, he called on leaders to be innovative in formulating and implementing policies and actions that will guarantee children’s future.

He also recalled that one of his first empowerment and skills acquisition programmes as senator was the training of over 400 children in the areas of engineering and robotics.

The children who were drawn from different primary and secondary schools across Abia Central Senatorial District were trained on how to create game apps, animated cartoon characters, build housing and estate prototypes, and prototypes of exotic cars and heavy duty vehicles.

At the graduation ceremony organised for the children at the end of the training, Senator Austin Akobundu told them that “The skills you have learned here are keys to a future filled with possibilities. Whether you choose to pursue careers in technology, engineering, or any other field, the foundation you have been equipped with here will serve you well. Embrace these opportunities, continue to learn, and share your knowledge with others. The future is yours to shape,” he said.

Continuing, a visibly elated Akobundu described the participants as “the future of Abia Central,” and further declared that, “With the skills you’ve learned, you have the power to transform our community, contribute to our economy, and inspire others. I am committed to your success and will continue to support initiatives that create more opportunities for our youth to learn, grow, and excel.”

As the nation marks another Children’s Day today, Senator Akobundu wishes all children a prosperous future.
