Senator Akobundu stated this on Monday, 20th May, 2025, at the 18th Banjul Accord Group plenary meeting hosted by Nigeria in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

While presenting his paper at the summit, the Abia Central Senator stated that “From the legislative perspective, we will focus on the following: (a) Enhanced regulatory frameworks for safety and security (b) Improved oversight and compliance with ICAO standards and best practices.”

On his part, the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aersopace Development, Festus Keyamo, urged African nations to implement the single air transport market among African countries.
