The Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti has Inaugurated the Abia State Christian Board with Apostle Emmanuel Agommuoh as Chairman and Abia State Muslim Board with Sheikh Ali Ukiwo as Chairman.
At the inauguration ceremony held at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Umuahia, Governor Otti congratulated the newly appointed members, noting that their appointments were based on merit, adding that each member had demonstrated exceptional service to both God and humanity, making them deserving of the roles.
The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring high standards of excellence and accountability, and urged the newly appointed members to focus on service and performance in their new roles, emphasizing the importance of justifying the trust placed in them.
In their responses, the Chairman of the Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Apostle Emmanuel Agomuoh, and the Chairman of the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Sheikh Ali Ukiwo, expressed gratitude to Governor Otti for the appointments, and assured the Governor that they would work diligently to meet his expectations and contribute positively to the state’s pilgrim programs.
They further lauded Governor Otti for his consistency and leadership and requested that efforts be made to include the Abia State Pilgrims Boards in this year’s Holy Land visits.

The event was attended by the Deputy Governor, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, Secretary to Abia State Government, Prof. Kenneth Kalu, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, the Head of Service, Mr Benson Ojeikere among other key government officials.
