ENDORSEMENT OF GOVERNOR ALEX OTTI FOR SECOND TERM BY NNAUSA IS A PERSONAL AGENDA, NOT THAT OF ENTIRE NGWALAND

The Coalition of Concerned and Patriotic Ngwa Citizens (CCPNC), representing the authentic voice of Ndi Ngwa living, working, and experiencing daily life across the land, wishes to distance itself from the premature second-term endorsement of and vote of confidence passed in Governor Alex Otti by the Ngwa National Association USA (NNAUSA). It is both shocking and deeply disappointing that a diaspora organization that should stand for accountability and genuine development is acting without doing its due diligence and checks, thus, completely disregarding the painful plight of the very homeland they claim to represent.

We state without fear of contradiction that the position taken by the leadership of NNAUSA was borne out of lack of appreciation of facts on ground and elitist detachment. While members of NNAUSA sit in the comfort of their air-conditioned homes in the United States, consuming curated photos, heavily edited videos, and orchestrated media propaganda pushed by government publicists, the actual reality across the local government areas of Ngwaland is one of severe neglect, broken promises, and deteriorating infrastructure.

The claim that Governor Alex Otti has brought transformational development to Abia State is a carefully crafted illusion that fails the test of empirical evidence in Ngwaland. We challenge NNAUSA to point to any single local government area in Ngwaland—from Osisioma Ngwa to Isiala Ngwa North, Isiala Ngwa South, Obingwa, Ugwunagbo, Aba North, Aba South and Ukwa axis—where the administration has executed holistic, impactful, and life-changing rural development.

The truth on the ground is stark and undeniable:
1. Rural Road Networks: Aside from superficial embellishments along a few high-profile urban stretches, the critical agricultural and trade roads connecting our rural communities in Ngwaland remain impassable, turning daily commutes into nightmares and cutting off rural farmers from urban markets.
2. Public Education Infrastructure: Our public primary and secondary schools across Ngwa villages remain in a messy, dilapidated state. Roofless classrooms, lack of basic learning equipment, and neglected teaching staff are the order of the day, forcing poor parents to bear the brunt of an abandoned public education sector.
3. Basic Amenities and Local Economy: Healthcare centers in the hinterlands lack essential medical supplies and personnel, while rural electrification and water projects remain non-existent.

Governor Alex Otti has not been fair in his treatment of the Ngwa nation. The same Ngwaland that preserved him, embraced him, defended his political aspirations, and provided the critical electoral base that elevated him to the government house. Yet, since assuming office, his administration has consistently treated the core developmental needs of the Ngwa people with apathy and systemic exclusion, choosing instead to focus heavily on media-driven projects designed purely for public relations consumption abroad.

It is unconscionable for NNAUSA to reward this level of institutional fair-weather governance with a political endorsement. We hereby challenge the executive body of NNAUSA to immediately suspend their remote political declarations and send an independent, unbiased delegation to communities across Ngwaland for independent inspection. Let them walk the inner roads of our villages, visit our local schools, interact with rural dwellers, and see things for themselves rather than relying on digital illusions and political patronage.

Governor Alex Otti has not earned, nor does he deserve, the second-term support of the patriotic people of Ngwaland. We call on all sons and daughters of Ngwaland, both at home and in the diaspora, to reject the misguided endorsement by NNAUSA and demand genuine accountability, equitable governance, and immediate infrastructural intervention in Ngwaland.

We end this piece by stating clearly that while every human group is entitled to pursue any political agenda or support any candidate, doing so at the expense of facts is politically disingenuous. Let facts speak for themselves.

Signed:

Mr. Chukwuemeka Obinna
Convener, Coalition of Concerned and Patriotic Ngwa Citizens (CCPNC)

Engr. Joe Nkoro
Secretary, CCPNC
