Iri Ji Festival: Ndume Ibeku Endorses Chinedum Orji, Says “We Will Support You Genuinely And Wholeheartedly”
The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, was endorsed on Wednesday by the people of Ndume Ibeku as he paid a courtesy visit to the Traditional Ruler of Mbaocha Ndume Ibeku in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State, HRM Eze Sir Rexford Ohaeri, to celebrate the community’s Iri Ji (New Yam) Festival.
Speaking during the visit, Chinedum Orji expressed deep appreciation to the Traditional Ruler, the cabinet members, and the entire community for the warm reception and endorsement, promising to remain accessible, responsive and committed to the development and wellbeing of the people if elected as the next House of Representatives member for Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency.
“I do not take your support and endorsement for granted. I regard them as a call to greater responsibility and a reminder that political leadership must always be about service to the people”, Orji said.
He promised to work diligently to justify the confidence reposed on him and to always listen to their concerns, and advocate for initiatives that will promote development.
In his speech, HRM Eze Sir Rexford Ohaeri, welcomed the former Abia speaker to the Iri Ji festival of the community. He said the courtesy visit has demonstrated that he values the people of Ndume Ibeku, their traditions and community.
“We appreciate the respect you have shown to the traditional institution and the people of Ndume Ibeku, as you pursue your political ambition, I want to assure you that our community have taken note of your legitimate interest in serving our people and we will support you genuinely and wholeheartedly”, Eze Ohaeri said.
The Traditional Ruler noted that the endorsement by the traditional leaders and members of the community is a significant show of support and goodwill for Chinedum Orji, reflecting the trust and confidence the traditional leadership has placed in his vision, character and capacity to serve.
Orji, was accompanied by Hon Nwachukwu Innocent (ONWA), the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Umuahia East State constituency.
