Press Release
Stop Wasting Resources Searching For What You Could Have Asked Us — Chima Anyaso Campaign Organization Tells Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu

The Chima Anyaso Campaign Organization is aware of the recent application made by a legal practitioner to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), seeking Certified True Copies (CTC) of documents submitted by Chima Anyaso, who was the 2019 PDP candidate for Bende Federal Constituency, as well as documents relating to his participation in the 2023 Abia State Governorship Election as the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP).
While we have no objection to anyone exercising their lawful right to obtain public records, we find it curious that resources are being expended on lawyers and administrative processes to obtain information that could have been requested directly from us.
Dear Deputy Speaker, you really do not need to spend your money paying lawyers and making applications to INEC for information that could have been obtained by simply asking me. I would have provided it to you.
If the intention is to investigate whether there is any issue concerning the identity or records of Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, we have absolutely nothing to hide. The relevant information is available, and there is no mystery surrounding the person of Dr. Chima Anyaso(OFUJI) , who will replace you at the House of Representatives come 2027.
We wish to remind you that our candidate is not like you in this regard. He has answered to the same first name, middle name and last name since birth. Nothing has changed, nothing has been added and nothing needs to be changed.
Dr. Chima Anyaso has classmates from primary school, secondary school and university. He has associates, friends and acquaintances, as well as official records and people who have known him for decades, who can attest to his identity. His name has remained the same: Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso.
If you believe there is a legal or documentary question that requires clarification, there is a much simpler and less expensive route: ask us directly. We will provide the necessary information.
Rather than spending resources on lawyers and administrative requests over matters that could easily be clarified, those resources would be better directed towards correcting some of the failed projects you attracted for the people of Bende.
The 2027 political contest is about ideas, competence, development, representation and the future of our constituency, not an endless search for a ‘technicality’ where none exists.
If there is a legitimate legal question, let it be presented openly, and we will respond to it appropriately. But if the objective is simply to search through documents in the hope of discovering something that can be used against Dr. Chima Anyaso, we are sorry to inform you that such an exercise will be futile.
The Labour Party candidate, Dr. Chima Anyaso, has nothing to hide. His identity is not a mystery, and his records are available for legitimate scrutiny.
The people of Bende have also made their position clear that they are voting the Labour Party come 2027. Rather than manufacture controversies, focus your energy on rendering apology for the substandard projects that is now affecting the image of your party in Bende.
