Opinion: Obi Aguocha and the Political Reckoning Coming in 2027.

As Nigerians go in to general election in 2027 especially as it concerns Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, one name that has been drawing sharpest criticism from Constituents and Abia State at large is the name of the member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Hon. Obi Aguocha.
As someone who has leaved in Umuahia for over 2 decades and for many other Constituents, the verdict has been same which is colossal failure on Aguocha.
Obi Aguocha despite coming in through the 2023 Peter Obi wave has failed to meet the expectations of over 95 percent of the people of Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency.
Rather than facing his legislative duties by bringing dividends of democracy, initiating impactful bills and moving life changing motions in the green chambers of the National Assembly, has turned around to make himself an Orderly of the Governor.
Now the questions waiting for answers are;
1. Was Obi Aguocha elected to be the Orderly of the Governor?
2. Can Aguocha list out his projects/achievements so far just as his counterparts from other Constituencies are doing across Abia State and Nigeria at large.
3. What and what exactly will be the reason why the people of Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency should vote for Aguocha again.
4. What will Obi Aguocha be telling people that he has done that should make them to vote for him?
It is on record that Obi Aguocha is the only member of the house of Representatives that has no single project to his name, no single empowerment program for the Youths and women can be traced to his name, absence of federal projects which includes; roads, primary healthcare centers, Youth employment etc.
While his colleagues at the National Assembly are busy carrying out legislative business and oversight functions Aguocha is always seen chasing shadows, following the Governor around and thereby found missing when relevant decisions are being taken.
You don’t reenforce a failure that has already chosen his part and taken his destiny.
Obi Aguocha has already made plans for himself of becoming the aide de camp of the Governor, knowing fully well that he is not returning to the National Assembly in 2027. Let’s support him to make his dream a reality by voting him out.
