HON. IBE OKWARA OSONWA JOINS EBEM COMMUNITY ROAD CLEARANCE, PLEDGES ACTION ON EROSION-DAMAGED MARKET.
Member representing the Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency,Hon Ibe Okwara Osonwa on Monday joined the Ebem Ohafia Development Union (EODU) and its Youth Wing in a major community road clearance exercise along the Ada Udumaeze/Iyi-Opele axis in Ebem Ohafia.
The exercise,which drew active participation from community leaders and youths,formed part of ongoing efforts by the Union to improve access within the community and support economic activities for residents,farmers and traders who depend heavily on the road network.
Speaking during the exercise,Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots development and community-driven initiatives,noting that communities that take responsibility for their own progress deserve the support of responsive leadership.
To support the operation,the federal lawmaker deployed the constituency pay-loader,which had earlier been engaged in farm road projects in Ututu and also provided diesel to ensure the smooth execution of the exercise.
The operation was coordinated by the First Vice President General of the EODU, Ogwo Ukpola Eke who represented the President General, Chief Engr. Uduma Olugu Iroha, while the Youth Wing activities were led by Chairman Amadi-Olua Onwuka.
Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa also acknowledged concerns raised by community leaders over the deteriorating condition of the Ebem Daily Market,which has reportedly suffered years of erosion damage and neglect. He assured that the matter would receive necessary attention and engagement.
The lawmaker maintained that effective representation goes beyond speeches and must be demonstrated through visible support for community efforts and people-oriented interventions across the constituency.
