Q: Why are you running for Arochukwu State Constituency?
I have watched our constituency carry more pride than infrastructure for too long. Arochukwu is a name that commands respect across Igboland historically, culturally, spiritually. But when you drive through our communities today, you see hospitals without equipment, schools without qualified teachers, young people without economic footing. I am running because I refuse to accept that greatness in our past excuses mediocrity in our present. And I am running now because I have both the preparation and the plan to change it.
Q: What is the single biggest problem in Arochukwu today?
I will give you more than one because our people deserve honest answers. First, maternal and primary healthcare has collapsed. Women in Arochukwu are dying from conditions that are entirely preventable. Our primary health centers lack basic drugs, skilled birth attendants, and functional equipment. Second, our youth are leaving. Skill acquisition and technical education are so underfunded that our young men and women have no reason to stay. Third, food insecurity is creeping into communities that once fed themselves. We have fertile land, we have rivers, we have the human capacity but zero policy support for smallholder farmers. These are not abstract problems. These are the crises I see in the faces of our people every time I am home in Arochukwu.
Q: You talk about a plan. What exactly are your four pillars?
My platform rests on four non-negotiable priorities:
01 — Quality Education
Functional schools, trained teachers, bursary support for Arochukwu students.
02 — Skill Acquisition
Youth empowerment centres, vocational training, small business seed grants.
03 — Maternal & Primary Health
Revived PHCs, skilled birth attendants, maternal health outreach across all wards.
04 — Food Security & Agriculture
Farmer support schemes, cooperative models, access to agricultural credit.
Q: Why should the APC give you the ticket over other aspirants?
Consensus or primary — I welcome either, because I am prepared for both. What I bring to the APC is not just political loyalty it is demonstrated capacity. I am a doctoral researcher in public health policy. I understand legislation, budgets, and policy implementation from the inside. Most aspirants carry ambition. I carry ambition and a blueprint. Our party needs candidates who can win the seat AND deliver once they are in it. I am that candidate for Arochukwu. When Benjamin Kalu’s influence speaks for Abia State at the federal level, Arochukwu must have a legislator at the state level who can match that energy someone who understands governance, not just politics.
Q: What do you say to people who think you are too young or too academic?
I say: look at what experience without knowledge has given us. We have had experienced politicians in Arochukwu for decades — where are the roads? Where are the hospitals? Where are the schools? Experience without competence is just seniority. I bring something our constituency has never had in the House of Assembly: someone who has studied how policy actually works, who understands data, who has worked in research and advocacy, and who is deeply rooted in Arochukwu soil. My Abam blood is not borrowed. My commitment to this land is not seasonal. And my skills are not theoretical — they are exactly what a legislator needs to write bills, engage budgets, and hold the executive accountable.
Q: Final message to the people of Arochukwu?
Arochukwu was never a place of followers. We are the sons and daughters of Ibini Ukpabi we have always led. Give me your mandate, and I will carry it with both hands and a bowed head, because this is not about me. It is about the mother in Obinkita who delivers her baby without a midwife. It is about the young man in Abam who has talent but no opportunity. It is about the farmer in Ututu who works hard land with no government support. I am running for all of them and I will not let them down.
