1 Year Anniversary: Mayor Of Arochukwu, Inspects Projects, Meet Party Leaders and Arochukwu Stakeholders , Gives Account of Stewardship.
As part of activities to mark his 1 year anniversary, the Mayor of Arochukwu Local Government Area, Engr. Okereke Eze Aru, yesterday had an interactive session with members of Arochukwu Legislative Council, Leaders of Labour Party and stakeholders of Arochukwu LGA.
During the interaction, the Mayor outlined some of his accomplishments so far which includes, ongoing renovation of the council lodge, staff quarters lodge, colonial building, ongoing construction of markets central motor packs, Skills Acquisition Center, among others.
The Mayor assured the stakeholders of his readiness to always continue to support the party in the LGA to make sure that the vision of the Governor Alex Otti is actualized.
He admonished them to continue to spread the good news of the Governor.
The Mayor led the stakeholders to inspect some of his projects and that of the Governor of Abia State in Arochukwu.
Some of the Governor’s project visited in the council headquarters includes, Arochukwu general hospital that is undergoing reconstruction, Abia State college of Education Technical Arochukwu that is also undergoing renovations.
While at the general hospital and Abia State College of Education Technical, the Mayor used the opportunity to interact with staff and management of the two establishments where he assured them that his administration will partner with them for an effective service delivery.
Other highlights of the day include visit to Arochukwu prisons where the mayor also interacted with inmates and admonished them on the ethics of life, the Mayor reminded them that they are in prison does not mean it is the end of their lives and they could be useful to themselves and the society if they want to. The Mayor made some cash donations to the prison.
The interactive session also witnessed the presence of Chief Nkem Okoro, the Labor party Chairman of Arochukwu LGA Mr. G. N. Onuoha.
It will be recalled that the mayor on assumption of office constructed an ICT center in the council headquarters for workers of the LGA
