DISCLAIMER ON FALSE PUBLICATION AGAINST THE MAYOR OF AROCHUKWU LGA
The attention of the Arochukwu Legislative Council has been drawn to a misleading and unfounded publication circulating on social media titled “Arochukwu Bleeds As Councilors Banned From Office.”
The Legislative Council wishes to categorically state that the contents of the said publication are false, malicious, and deliberately intended to mislead the public and create unnecessary tension within the local government.
For the avoidance of doubt, there exists no form of misunderstanding or conflict between the Mayor of Arochukwu Local Government Area, Engr. Dr. Eze Aru Okereke, and the eleven councilors representing the various wards of Arochukwu LGA. The relationship between the Legislative Council and the Executive Arm of the Local Government remains cordial, respectful, and development-driven.
It is important to note that today, Thursday, October 9, 2025, all eleven councilors accompanied the Mayor of Arochukwu LGA, Engr. Dr. Eze Aru Okereke, to Ututu for the commissioning of a community project executed by the Member representing Arochukwu State Constituency, Hon. Uchenna Okoro. This singular event clearly demonstrates the unity, teamwork, and shared commitment among all elected representatives from the LGA.
The councilors further reaffirm their strong working relationship with the Mayor, Engr. Eze Aru Okereke, the Member representing Arochukwu State Constituency, Hon. Uchenna Okoro, and His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, Executive Governor of Abia State. Together, we remain committed to actualizing the dividends of democracy, promoting good governance, and advancing the collective goodwill and development of the people of Arochukwu LGA and Abia State at large.
The general public is therefore advised to disregard the said publication in its entirety, as it does not reflect the reality in Arochukwu Local Government. The Legislative Council remains resolute in its mission to promote peace, transparency, and sustainable development across all wards in the area.
