Senator Akobundu to Partner National Teacher’s Institute for Improved Training Environment

 

Senator Austin Akobundu has said he would explore ways of working with the National Teachers’ Institute (NTI), Oboro Ikwuano Study Centre, in a bid to help improve the learning environment.

 

Senator Akobundu, who was represented at the event by Prince Obinna Apugo Okey, a former commissioner for Inter-Governmental Affairs, stated this during the 2nd Matriculation Ceremony and 1st Year Anniversary of the Institute which held recently in Ikwuano.

 

Akobundu who was invited to the occasion as a Special Guest of Honour, congratulated the Institute on its 1st Year Anniversary and the students on their matriculation, urging them to take their courses seriously and be ready to be exemplary memtors to those that would ve under their care as students.

 

Manager of the Centre, Mrs Elizabeth Onyeka, recounted some of the prospects and challenges facing the Institute and called intervention by relevant stakeholders.

 

Recall that Senator Akobundu had sponsored 113 constituents to the NTI as part of his contributions towards bridging the shortfall of teachers and enhancing the quality of education in the state.
