Democracy Day: Rep Ibe Okwara Osonwa Congratulates Nigerians

The lawmaker representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Honourable Ibe Okwara Osonwa, has congratulated Nigerians on the occasion of Democracy Day, praising the nation’s collective journey toward democratic consolidation and the resilience of its people.

In a statement personally signed by him to mark the day, Rep. Osonwa described June 12 as a symbol of Nigeria’s enduring pursuit of freedom, justice, and accountable governance. He hailed the sacrifices made by past heroes and citizens whose courage and commitment laid the foundation for the democracy the country enjoys today.

“Democracy Day is not just a commemoration of history, but a reaffirmation of our shared resolve to uphold democratic values, protect civil liberties, and ensure good governance for all,” he said.

“It reminds us of the power of the people and the importance of their voices in shaping our nation’s future.”

Rep. Osonwa urged Nigerians to remain steadfast in the democratic process and to actively engage in nation-building. He called on leaders at all levels to rededicate themselves to the principles of transparency, inclusivity, and service to the people.

 

While appreciating the efforts of Nigerians in sustaining democracy despite various challenges, the lawmaker reiterated his commitment to effective representation, youth empowerment, and infrastructural development in Arochukwu/Ohafia and beyond.

 

“As we celebrate Democracy Day, let us strengthen our commitment to unity, peace, and the rule of law. Together, we can achieve a better and more prosperous Nigeria,” he added.

 

Rep. Osonwa concluded by expressing hope for a future where every Nigerian enjoys the full dividends of democracy and where governance truly reflects the will and welfare of the people.
