Withdraw Your False Allegations against Senator Akobundu or Face Legal Action, Chief Anyaegbu Tells Toni Icheku

Chief Oluchi Joseph Anyaegbu has warned one Toni Icheku to withdraw the false allegation of brutalisation he made against Senator Akobundu or face legal action.

The warning came on the heels of Toni Icheku’s allegation that Senator Akobundu of Abia Central ordered bouncers at the funeral ceremony of Chief Oluchi Joseph Anyaegbu’s mother, to brutalise him on Thursday.

Chief Anyaegbu who was playing host to Senator Akobundu when the incident reportedly occurred, has insisted that the said Toni Icheku must withdraw the false allegation with an apology or face legal consequences.

Narrating what transpired, Chief Anyaegbu said as part of the funeral ceremonies for his late mum, he was to have a private condolence session with some of his guests and had given instructions to his security personnel not to allow photographs to be taken during the session. “But while Senator Akobundu was condoling with me, the said Icheku came forward to take photographs of us and, in compliance with my directive, my security personnel approached and informed him of my instruction about photographs at the private condolence session. He, however, insisted on continuing with the photographs even when others complied without any fuss. It was at this point that he was taken aside to stop him from further breaching the processes put in place.

“There was no form of altercation whatsoever as to cause any allegation of brutalisation by anybody. The allegation which I read from some blogs like any other person came to me as a rude shock and could only have been the figment of Toni Icheku’s imagination. I wonder what he intended to achieve with the peddling of such blatant falsehood.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the personnel who stopped Icheku from taking the photographs were my security men and had nothing whatsoever to do with Senator Akobundu. The story which was obviously concocted to embarrass me and my guests, left me in huge shock.

“I expect Toni Icheku to do the needful by withdrawing the offensive story and issue an apology within 48 hours from the date of this publication or face the possibilities of a legal action. Such an irresponsible act must be squarely addressed and not allowed to fester or another innocent person will become a victim of such shenanigan,” Chief Anyaegbu concluded.
